چکیده

An hydrogenated nitrogen-rich graphitic carbon nitride, structurally related to the theoretical graphitic phase of C3N4, has been synthesized in a bulk wellcrystallized form. This new material was prepared by thermal decomposition of thiosemicarbazide up to 600°C at ambient pressure under nitrogen flow. Its composition was determined by elemental combustion analysis. Powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and C MAS NMR characterizations were performed. This material can be schematically described with a two-dimensional framework and a composition close to C3N4.17H1.12. In this nitrogen-rich material, C3N3 voids are fully occupied by water molecules which are strongly trapped into the material. A loss of crystallinity associated with a modification of the thermal behaviour is observed when the amount of trapped molecules decreases in the graphitic material, order being damaged both between and in the graphitic planes.

Synthesis and Electrochemical Study of Nano Graphitic Mesoporous Carbon

In the present study, a type of graphitic mesoporous carbon (denoted as GMC) is synthesized and its structural properties were characterized by nitrogen physisorption isotherms, transmission electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. According to BET and BJH methods, the specific surface area (SBET) and the average pore diameter of GMC are estimated to be 720 m2/g and 3.4 nm, respectively....

Evidence for a low-compressibility carbon nitride polymorph elaborated at ambient pressure and mild temperature

Superhard materials like diamond are essential for abrasive or cutting tool applications. In this way, carbon nitrides are of relevant interest because they are expected to exhibit exceptional mechanical properties, high values of bulk modulus being predicted. A smart and simple method was used to synthesize carbon nitrides and allowed elaborating a low-compressibility polymorph. The processing...

State of Art and Recent Trends in Bulk Carbon Nitride Synthesis

Light elements-based materials are of relevant interest because of their specific physicochemical properties mainly dependent on the involved strong chemical bonds. Among them, diamond and c-BN are still today the most representative materials especially concerning super hardness property. Nevertheless, since the prediction by Liu and Cohen (on the basis of ab initio calculation) of theoretical...
